Terms

Terms & Conditions

These terms describe how Family Matrix may be used. They are maintained by the app owner and apply to everyone who creates an account or opens an invite link.

Last updated: 28 July 2026

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, signing in with an emailed code, or using any part of Family Matrix, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Your account

  • You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your country to hold an account.
  • Keep your email inbox and sign-in codes secure — anyone with access to them can sign in as you.
  • You are responsible for activity carried out under your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not impersonate another family member.

3. Relationships and consent

Relationships are proposals until the other person confirms them. You may dispute or dissolve a relationship, but records are never hard-deleted: their status changes and the transition is logged. Do not use confirmations, disputes or dissolutions to harass another member.

4. Managed profiles and invites

You may create a managed profile for a relative who has not joined yet, and send them an invite link. Only add information you have a reasonable basis to share, and only send invites to people who would expect to hear from you. Invite links are secret — treat them like a password. When the person joins, they may claim the profile and control it thereafter.

5. Acceptable use

  • No harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing or sharing intimate images without consent.
  • No uploading content you do not have the rights to share.
  • No scraping, automated bulk access, probing security controls or circumventing circle visibility rules.
  • No spam, fraudulent invites, or use of the service for commercial solicitation.

Every profile and chat has a safety menu for blocking and reporting. We may review reports and restrict or remove accounts that break these rules.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the profile details, posts, comments, stories, messages and media you upload. You grant us the limited permission needed to store, process and display that content to the people your circle settings allow, so the service can work. You are responsible for the content you publish.

7. Availability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features may change, and maintenance or outages may interrupt access. We do not guarantee that data added by other members about your family is accurate — the graph reflects what members confirm, not verified records.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put other members at risk. Relationship history and audit records belonging to other members are retained where needed to keep their trees intact.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Family Matrix is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or disputes between family members arising from content shared on the service.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the product changes and will revise the date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions can be sent to the Family Matrix team at the address published on the app owner's website.
